We initiated a new study today comparing HumiForm to Pouches. This time, we used all wood, rather than glass top, humidors, so we're able to measure the wood moisture level throughout each humidor at various points in the study.
Prior to testing, both humidors were measuring in the 53% relative humidity range, and multiple measurements of the wood's moisture content ranged from 5.8% to 9.4% at 1/4" depth. Please note 5.8% is the minimum reading for the moisture meeting, so the actual values may be lower than 5.8%. While this amount of variation seems excessive for a new un-seasoned humidor, we are observing that this may actually be relatively normal for inexpensive humidors.
