Original Lyrics

Minivan Man

He swaggered in and over to the bar,

lit up a smoke and ordered a PBR.

In his wallet I could see pictures of his family.

He was taking a break to keep his sanity.

There's nothing sadder than the Minivan Man.

Another round and soon he'd have to go.

Checked out the waitress from head to toe.

On his phone I heard him lie he was at some hardware store.

He knocked back his beer and headed for the door.

There's nothing sadder than the Minivan Man.

On the street I saw him at the wheel,

racing his two tons of glass and steel.

Whipping in and out of traffic, from lane to lane.

In a hurry to chase his dying dreams away.

There's nothing sadder than the Minivan Man.

Choices

Life's all about choices, placing our bets,

a gift that's what we make of it, with few regrets.

It's a sad place at times, but I wouldn't have missed it.

The ride's been wild at times, but I never did quit.

No time for sorrow, no time to complain,

glass being half gone, or half filled with champagne?

Spend all our time, chasing our dreams.

Money isn't all, all that it seems.

Looking back through time, history's lens.

all that really matters is family and friends.

The world's insane at time, gotta learn to forgive.

Let bygones stay long gone, live and let live.

It's a sad place at times, but I wouldn't have missed it.

The ride's been wild at times, but I never will quit.

Bottled Up

She said I didn’t talk, was bottled-up inside,
didn’t share my feelings, never cried.
She thinks that I need help, I’m sure she must be right.
So, I'll hang out with my bottled-up friends tonight.

Spend time with Wellers and Jack, Makers, Jim and Johnnie Black.
Share evenings with my old friends; Sherry, Brandy and Gin.
Spend time with Wellers and Jack, Makers, Jim and Johnnie Black.
Share the night with Widow Jane, then start over again.

It’s getting lonely at home, now that my baby is gone.
Not sure what to do myself from dusk to dawn.
Hope she comes back soon, to help me with this song.
Not sure if I can keep this up for long.

So, I’ll start my day with some juice, diluted with Grey Goose,
Share evenings with my old friends; Sherry, Brandy and Gin.
Spend time with Wellers and Jack, Makers, Jim and Johnnie Black.
Share the night with Widow Jane, then start over again.

Festivus (To the Tune of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen)

You can observe Christmas, Diwali or Kwanzaa,
Ramadan, Boxing Day or maybe Hanukkah.
Or you can celebrate a special holiday with us
Come celebrate Festivus. Festivus
A holiday for the rest of us

This coming holiday we'll pass on rituals to spend
And all the credit card bills that seem to never end
We'll forego a tree with tinsel, silver and gold
And erect an aluminum pole. Aluminum pole
We'll erect an aluminum pole

We'll have friends & family over on December twenty third
To help us pound down eggnog until our sleech gets spurred
Then we'll sing to make it seem almost bear-able
Maybe witness a miracle. Miracle
A real Festivus miracle

We'll gather round the table for dinner and a toast
Then we'll air our grievances beginning with the host
Finally-with-the feats of strength Festivus will end,
Once our host is wrestled to the floor and pinned. And pinned
The host is wrestled to the floor and pinned.

You can observe Christmas, Diwali or Kwanzaa,
Ramadan, Boxing Day or maybe Hanukkah.
Or you can celebrate a special holiday with us
Come celebrate Festivus. Festivus
A holiday for the rest of us

Happy Festivus everyone!

Still Young

The face staring back in the mirror
Reminds me we're not here forever
Though my body grows old, and years take their toll
I'm still young on the inside

Christmas time, a home filled with joy
Christmas morn, a room filled with toys
Saturday morning cartoons, first man on the moon
Still young on the inside

Hanging out with neighborhood friends
Hoping and praying for school to end
Staying out all night, sneaking in at daylight
I'm still the same on the inside

First bike, first car
First kiss, watching the stars
So blessed to come this far

The face staring back in the mirror
Reminds me that time's getting dearer
Though my body grows old and years take their toll
I'm still young on the inside
Still the same inside
Still young on the inside

Grammy Got A Tramp Stamp

Gramps got friends, some are Sugar Daddies,
Some married Blue Hairs who drive big Caddy's.
Gramps seems happy, never seen him stray.
And I was reminded why just the other day.

Out for a drive they stopped by my place.
I noticed Grammy had piercings on her face.
As she bent down to pet the dog, I almost freaked.
Couldn't believe my eyes, Grammy was inked.

Grammy got a tramp stamp
Grammy got a tramp stamp

An image was tattooed on her lower back,
Like neon angel wings sprouting from her crack.
I looked at Gramps and he just smiled.
He'd told me in her younger days, “oh, she was wild.”

Grammy got a tramp stamp
Grammy got a tramp stamp

It's just wrong, pierced and tatted Elders.
It's just wrong, old women with ass-antlers.
So very wrong, except if you are Gramps.

Grammy got a tramp stamp
Grammy got a tramp stamp
Grammy got a tramp stamp
